House Dance is a style of dance that originated in the late 70’s and early 80’s from the clubs of Chicago and New York. The style was influenced by several types of movement, including Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, African dance, Latin dance, and martial arts. It is often seen as a footwork heavy dance, but is not limited on dancing with the feet. House Dance is about freedom, improvisation, and feeling the music.
